Monday Made It (July 21st 2014)

Time is ticking over here! I'm frantically trying to finish up all my projects so that I can get some much needed time in my new room. AGHHHHH...a teacher's to-do list is never done! At least I have Tara's linky to keep me on track! Seriously how did we stay motivated without this link up?!?!

First up I have been working really hard on making new classroom decorations. I finally bundled these products together and you can enter to win your own bundle at the bottom of this post!!

I bought these cute trash cans at the dollar store a month ago & finally made coordinating labels. I love having a trash bucket at each table when doing crafts. It keeps the mess manageable and the students responsible. My trash helper is in charge of emptying the buckets into the recycling bin each afternoon. Then on Friday they get to dump the recycling bin into the school bin!

Last year I had two whiteboards in my classroom so I used the back one for my word wall. I loved the fact that I could easily write the words at anytime. However, my new room only have one whiteboard so I decided its time to join the Pinterest craze and make the interactive ribbon word wall. I am very exciting to get into my room and hang these against the black bulletin board!!!!

My last made it is for my table signs. This project isn't really complete because I still need to dangle them from my tissue pom-poms that are in my classroom. BUT printing and cutting them is still an accomplishment! Haha!!

Now it's time for you to win your very own Bright Chevron Bundle....just enter below! The winner will be announced on next weeks Monday Made It!! Good Luck!! You can click on the image to preview the product on TPT!

Monday Made It (July 14th 2014)

Well I hate to admit it but I'm am literally in the middle of way to many unfinished products! But I'm still linking up with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics to share the few projects I did finish.

First up is my lost & found bucket! I was so tired of the constant "look what I found of the carpet Mrs.Lankford" while they hand me a random string or staple!
Or even better "whose glue stick is this?!?!" as they shout across the classroom and make everyone off task! I bought the bucket at the dollar store and made these adorable labels to go with my classroom decorations. Easy as pie! If you want a FREE copy of these labels click here!

I've been working hard on some TPT products and I'm excited to share them with you. They are all made to match my bright chevron classroom theme. I made three sets of Fry's sight word card to use on my word wall through the year. I also made number posters for my math wall! If you like either of these products you can click the picture to follow the link to my TPT store!!

Last on my list is a "Made-It" by my hubby! I am not the cook around our household but while I was off work for maternity leave I had to take on this responsibility. I'm not a horrible cook but I am by no means up to par with my husband. Let's break this dish down...HOMEMADE everything! Fresh tortillas, enchilada sauce and even a jalapeno from our garden. I'm happy he is back in charge! Haha.

That's it for this week! Now I'm off to listen to hammering because we are replacing the stucco on our home and repainting.

I'll be happy when its over...

Monday Made It (July 7th 2014)

First things first...I've randomly picked a winner and the teacher toolkit labels from last weeks post goes too....
Congratulations!!! If you didn't win you can still grab your copy here!

Now onto the new fun! I'm linking up with Tara at 4th grade frolics again for a new Monday Made it!!

This week I'm including a FREEBIE because....well because who doesn't love a freebie??
In my classroom I use the behavior chart where students can move their clips up or down. My highest color is PINK. In the past the only thing different about getting to pink was that my students were able to color two coins on their treasure box card instead of one. I wanted to add some more SPARKLE to getting on pink so I decided to make these desk signs.

I don't know about your class but my kiddos are going to go BONKERS for these signs! These frames are from IKEA and are so cheap! They come in primary colors but I wanted pink so I got my leftover spray paint from last week.

The best part is they got to dry standing up! One coat and done...that works perfect for the impatient side of me. Next up I designed, printed and cut my signs.

Then I taped the signs on both sides of the insert that came with the frames.

A little tip...don't forget the plastic wrap on the clear covers! Haha!

And ta-da my masterpiece is complete!! Well at least one of them!

If you want your own FREE copy you can go to my TPT store. Please leave some love!! I'm going to be making a lot of these signs for all types of behaviors. I'd love for you to comment so I can hear your ideas and thoughts! Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!!

Monday Made It (June 30th 2014)

Finally!! I'm so happy to be able to link up with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics for another Monday Made It! I must admit I am addicted to crafting and it causes my house to suffer...the 1st step is admitting you have a problem!!!
Anyways, onto the fun. This week I made the VERY popular teacher toolbox. However I didn't settle for one....I made two! I bought them at Home Depot on sale for $16!!!

Although gray is one of my favorite colors (in home decor) it's not a color in my classroom. So I decided I would use some bright pink and lime green spray paint to brighten them up a bit.
After I chose my colors I got to work. I'm not the best spray painter but I'm pretty sure my Kindergartens won't even notice!
Next up was label time! I searched for the perfect labels that would match my room but in the end decided to create my own so that they would match all my other decorations. I printed them out on shiny photo paper and cut away!

Once the cutting was over I used double sided tape to adhere them inside the drawers. You really can't see the tape unless you look VERY close. I really love the way the both turned out and can't wait to organize my desk at last!

Now it's pretty obvious what the pink toolbox is going to be used for but the lime green one is a little different. I plan on keeping this one accessible to the students. I will use the bottom large bins for extra/lost crayons. Then the top small bins are labeled A-Z to keep my letter cards for word building! The table drawers will hold that days letters paper clipped together for each student at the table. As the year goes on the table captains will be in charge of clipping the letters together as a morning procedure. I'm really hoping this will help to keep those letters organized!

Now for the EXTRA fun! One of you lovely readers can enter for a chance to win the labels I created! The bundle includes pre-made and editable labels for both the 22 and 39 compartment drawers. Enter to win by using the rafflecopter below!

Monday Made It

Good morning!!
I'm so thrilled to link up with Tara at 4th grade Frolics for my 1st Monday Made It! I'm pretty addicted to crafts so the fact that I can now document them is AMAZING!

So here goes!

I've really wanted to make a large magnetic board to put in the playroom and my classroom. So off to walmart I went. I picked up 2 huge oil drip pans from the car department. They were only $12 each! Then I snatched up some cute duct tape, command strips and tissue paper.

The duct tape is to cover the words on the top.

This was actually the hardest part of the project and it wasn't even that bad! My favorite kind of projects are the easy ones!!! The reason this was hard was because I bought a patterned ducktape and I had to line up the patterns.

Next I made tissue pom-poms, except I only fluffed them up in one direction. They are more like tissue flowers!

After I made a green one I decided I wanted to add more colors. Then it was time to glue them on.

I just put a huge glob of hot glue on the bottom of each flower.

I bundled them up in the corner and then got to work doodling!

And now the finished project....

Stay tuned for a new post on how I plan to use this in my classroom!
